Abstract

This research paper provides an in-depth analysis of the literary and cultural influence of the Śivarājavijayakāvya on contemporary youth. The Śivarājavijayakāvya poetically portrays the valor, ethical excellence, leadership prowess, and nationalistic sentiments of Chhatrapati Śivājī Mahārāj. In the modern era, where the youth face ethical degradation, a lack of direction, and leadership crises, such an inspiring Sanskrit prose poem plays a crucial role in personality development. This study demonstrates that Śivarājavijayakāvya effectively fosters national consciousness, moral integrity, self-confidence, and leadership qualities among young individuals.

The historical-literary background of Śivarājavijayakāvya highlights its foundation on the life of Śivājī Mahārāj, aiming to showcase his bravery, devotion to dharma, and dedication to national protection. The poem predominantly embodies the heroic sentiment (Vīra Rasa), inspiring enthusiasm, pride, and motivation through vivid depictions of battles, fort conquests, enemy defeats, and governance.

The paper addresses the socio-psychological state of modern youth influenced by materialism, consumerism, and rapid success aspirations, leading to moral conflicts, lack of ideals, and diminished social responsibility. In this context, studying ideal-centric prose like Śivarājavijayakāvya is essential for balanced psychological development.
