Impact of Yogic Lifestyle on Emotional Intelligence and Behavioural Stability: A Longitudinal Perspective

Prof. Jatinkumar H. Soni, Former Vice Chancellor, Swarnim Gujrat Sports University

Abstract

Emotional intelligence and behavioural stability are central to psychological well-being and effective social functioning. In an era marked by increasing stress, emotional reactivity, and mental health concerns, there is growing interest in holistic lifestyle-based interventions. This article explores the long-term impact of a yogic lifestyle—integrating physical practices, breath regulation, meditation, and ethical discipline—on emotional intelligence and behavioural consistency. Drawing from conceptual analysis and emerging research trends, the study highlights how sustained engagement in yogic practices can enhance emotional regulation, reduce stress, and promote stable behavioural patterns. The paper also identifies key directions for future longitudinal and interdisciplinary research.
