History

Vedic Science was founded in 1999 with ISSN no. 0975-0312 by eminent Vedic Scholars Prof. Ravi Prakash Arya and Late Ram Narain Arya as the mouthpiece of the Indian Foundation for Vedic Science. Since then, Dr. Ravi Prakash Arya has served as the Editor-in-Chief of this Journal, and Ram Narain Arya served as the Patron between 1999 and 2010. Vedic Science was published by International Vedic Vision New York between 2000 and 2009. It was also published in collaboration with Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati Chair (UGC), Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak  between 2021-2025. Now, it is being published by Indian Foundation for Vedic Science in collaboration with Vedic Science Virtual Vishva-Vidyapeetha USA.

Vedic Science is a peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to the rigorous, interdisciplinary study of knowledge systems found in Vedic literature in relation to modern scientific, philosophical, and historical frameworks.

AIMS & SCOPE

Vedic Science is an interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed journal that publishes original research examining Vedic knowledge systems and related Sanskrit textual traditions within rigorous academic and analytical frameworks. The journal aims to advance critical, evidence-based, and methodologically grounded scholarship that explores the historical development, conceptual structures, and comparative relevance of Vedic knowledge systems in relation to contemporary academic disciplines.

Scope includes:

  • Historical and textual analysis of scientific and philosophical ideas in Vedic and post-Vedic literature

  • Philological, linguistic, and hermeneutic studies of Sanskrit texts

  • Critical examination of Vedic knowledge systems in historical and intellectual contexts

  • Comparative studies between pre-modern knowledge systems and modern scientific or philosophical frameworks

  • Philosophy of science, epistemology, and history of ideas

  • Consciousness studies, including interdisciplinary approaches from neuroscience, cognitive science, and philosophy

  • Interdisciplinary research involving mathematics, physics, cosmology, and related theoretical domains in comparative and historical contexts

Out of Scope:

The journal does not consider:

  • Devotional, theological, or purely interpretive writings without academic methodology

  • Claims of scientific validity without empirical, textual, or analytical support

  • Non-scholarly or opinion-based submissions

PEER REVIEW PROCESS

The journal follows a double-blind peer review process:

All submissions are screened using plagiarism detection software (e.g., iThenticate).

AI Policy

Authors can use generative AI and AI-assisted technologies in the writing process, these technologies should only be used to improve readability and language of the work and not to replace key authoring tasks such as producing scientific, pedagogic, or medical insights, drawing scientific conclusions, or providing clinical recommendations.
